Custom CMF implants, region by region
Patient-specific maxillofacial implants are planned from CT or CBCT and mirrored from the healthy side, so complex facial reconstructions restore both function and symmetry.
- OrbitOrbital floor and wall reconstruction after blow-out fractures and tumour surgery.
- Zygoma & malarZygomatico-maxillary reconstruction with PEEK overlay implants.
- MaxillaBilateral maxilla reconstruction and subperiosteal implants for the atrophic maxilla.
- MandibleReconstruction after tumour resection, including patient-specific reconstruction plates.
- TMJPatient-specific temporomandibular joint reconstruction.
- Fragmented boneCustom bioresorbable implants for comminuted fractures.
Facial contouring implants
Custom PEEK implants for genioplasty and chin augmentation, mandible angle and jawline definition, and malar and piriform augmentation, designed to the patient's anatomy instead of an off-the-shelf shape.
Patient-specific surgical guides are also available, for example for frontal bone contouring.
For bone graft support and alveolar ridge augmentation, see our 3D printed osseointegration titanium mesh. To compare materials by indication, read our implant materials guide.
- Titanium (Ti-6Al-4V). Reconstruction plates and load-bearing CMF implants.
- PEEK. Radiolucent overlays, orbital floors and contouring implants.
- Bioresorbable. Absorbable fixation with no second surgery.

Maxillofacial implants: questions surgeons ask
What are patient-specific maxillofacial implants?
They are custom CMF implants and plates designed from the patient's CT to reconstruct the orbit, zygoma, maxilla or mandible, usually by mirroring the healthy side to restore symmetry.
Can you make custom orbital floor implants?
Yes. Our manufacturers design orbital floor and medial or lateral wall implants in titanium and PEEK, including CNC-machined PEEK orbital floors, to restore orbital volume and globe position.
Do you make implants for the atrophic maxilla?
Yes. Patient-specific subperiosteal implants are designed for severely atrophic maxillae and mandibles where conventional dental implants are not possible.
Which materials are used for CMF implants?
Titanium for load-bearing plates and reconstruction, PEEK for radiolucent overlays and contouring, and bioresorbable implants for fragmented bone that should not need a second surgery.
How long does a custom CMF implant take?
Delivery is typically within 7 days of receiving the CT, including design review with the surgeon. Timelines vary by manufacturer and material.
